After a hard fought first match, Holton loses to Hayden 25-20, 25-23.

We had a great "Helpful Hearts Helpful Hands" kickoff event with our Holton Fire Department. A big "Thank You" to Scott Baum, Spencer Baum, Todd Hurt, Gregg Grollmes, Glenn Chiles, and Quinton Childs for taking time out of their day to share the importance of firefighters and how they help keep us safe. They were even out fighting a fire today!
Congratulations to the Holton HS JV Scholars Bowl Team of Hunter Segenhagen, Gavin Stockman, David Nunies, Emma Newberry, Keely Lovitt, and Jasmine Piladas as they placed 2nd in the round robin scholars bowl tournament @ Sabetha yesterday. The team lost the final to Sabetha with a score of 40 -50 (1 question separating the two teams).

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Holton Fire Department will be visiting our Holton Early Childhood (PreK) building to kickoff our "Helpful Hearts & Helpful Hands" community service theme. Throughout the months of November and December, our preschool students will be learning about ways in which they can be "helpful."

Exciting news from Indy at the National FFA Convention.
Nursery results are below. In the nearly 90 year history of our chapter probably less than 25 students have received CDE or Proficiency Award recognition on the big stage at Nationals. Two of those happen this afternoon at the 1:30pm with Jacob and Delaney, and another tomorrow during the 7am session with Lora. Elisa is rocking it in the band too.

RESULTS UPDATE: This is what we know so far, we will update this post as we learn more. Jacob made the main convention stage and finished top 10 in the nation. The team made Gold but not final 4. (Their final ranking will be released sometime this afternoon.)

Wildcats! We are thrilled to announce that Carter Colberg and Luke Lassey have been named a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist! This prestigious honor recognizes students who excel in the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT).
