Important Notice Regarding Tomorrow's Weather
__________________________
Parents & Families,
We know it’s been a long wait, but the time is finally here! Queue the celebration!
USD 336 is closely monitoring the forecasted temperatures and wind chill factors for tomorrow. Our primary concern is the safety of students and whether our buses can withstand the factors to safely transport students.
USD 336 will do everything we can to run a TWO-HOUR DELAY schedule tomorrow, February 20. There will be no AM 3- and 4-year-old Preschool; Infant-Toddler will drop-off begin at 9:30am. Washburn Tech will run at normal time. Breakfast will be served starting at 9:30am.
**Note: this may be subject to change depending on unforeseen conditions. Please watch for changes to be communicated via text, email, social media, and new stations between now and 7:00a.
Please take your time getting to the buildings in the morning. We realize all routes are not the same and not all road conditions are favorable.
As a precaution, we have increased the fuel additive in an attempt to prevent the buses from gelling. Unfortunately, the cold air intake increases when the buses slow at their stops. Please be aware that we may still experience busing issues in the morning even with the later run times. If you are able to bring your child rather than ride the bus or walk, we encourage you to do so!
Bus Riders: please contact your drivers if your child will not be riding in the morning so routes can run as efficiently as possible to minimize time on the roads.
Please take extra precautions when coming to school. With the possibility of icy and slippery walkways, ensure that students wear appropriate footwear with good traction to reduce the risk of slipping.
We also encourage wearing warm, layered clothing including hats, gloves, and scarves to stay comfortable during colder temperatures. Remind teen drivers to dress warmly, pack emergency supplies in their vehicle, clear their windows before driving, and take it slow on the roads.
We are thrilled to see you again soon! Please be safe!

Padres y Familias,

Parent-Teacher Conference Reschedule - Wednesday, February 12th
Dear Parent & Families,
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Due to the impending inclement weather forecast for Wednesday, February 12th, we have made the decision to reschedule our parent-teacher conferences originally planned for that evening. The safety of our students, families, and staff is our utmost priority, and we believe it is best to avoid travel during potentially hazardous conditions.
Though the impact of weather has not yet hit, we want to afford our teachers ample time to coordinate with families as facilitating these schedule changes can be a time-consuming process. We value our family partnerships and seek to provide a safe opportunity for school to parent collaboration on student progress. Teachers will be contacting families affected by the adjusted schedules as, again, the conferences scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, February 12th will be rescheduled.
High School Dance
As we look at maintaining safety for students and families, we regret to share that the high school Winter Festival Dance will also be rescheduled. A rescheduled date will be shared soon.
We understand this change causes inconvenience, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding. We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and will communicate any further changes if necessary. Should weather impact our schedule on Thursday, a revised plan will be shared.
We appreciate your understanding.
Sincerely,
Trevor W. Ashcraft
Superintendent
